Here’s a step-by-step outline of the cataract removal process.

Step 1: Have a complete, dilated exam at Texas Vision & Laser Center
Bring your glasses 

Be out of your contact lenses for 2 weeks Plan to be with us for about 2 hours If the surgeon confirms that you could benefit  from cataract surgery at this time then  

schedule a Pre-Operative appointment Proceed to Step 2

Step 2: Pre-Operative appointment
Exact pricing & timeline will be provided Important paperwork will be completed Schedule date(s) of cataract surgery We can answer all your questions 

Plan to be with us for a couple hours Proceed to Step 3

Step 3: Cataract Surgery for each eye (if applicable)
This will be scheduled during your Pre-Op  appointment (Step 2) 

One eye at a time, about a week apart Done on Mondays and Wednesdays You will need a driver 

Proceed to Step 4

Step 4: Post-Operative appointments per surgery (about 3 visits)
These will be scheduled during your  Pre-Op appointment. You will need a  

minimum of THREE post-op appointments.  

Usually these occur at 1 day, 1 week & 6  weeks after surgery
